Royal Papillion Puppies for Sale

About a year ago I was on my way into the supermarket when I noticed a lady standing out in front with a litter of Papillion puppies for sale. I couldn’t resist them. There was this one particular puppy that just followed me around. I couldn’t leave without her. This was before I know anything about their breed. Since then I’ve learned a lot about the breed, especially about their temperament and their need to run around.

When I saw that Papillion puppies for sale sign I never imagined that I would be taking home one of the oldest breeds of dog recorded in history. Their breed goes back about 700 years. Papillion were recognizable in 13th through 15th century Italian frescoes. They were featured in many paintings dating back to the Renaissance period. The breed was well known in Italy during the renaissance and later perfected by French breeders. Papillion’s have a long history of being associated with royalty; from Louis XIV to Marie Antoinette. Their perigee has carried this down through time.

Papillion dogs are also known as the continental toy Spaniel, or the butterfly dog (because of their ears look like butterfly wings). They were once referred to as the squirrel spaniel (because their tail is long and plumed and curled over the back). They often wear an alert and intelligent expression. I think it was that expression that made me stop at the Papillion puppies for sale sign. At times it’s almost as if they can understand exactly what you’re thinking or talking about. By nature they are very friendly, gentle and affectionate dogs. They’re even good with cats (if socialized with them). Don’t let their size fool you, because they are tougher than you may think. Papillion’s love to play outside, to them there’s nothing better than a romp outside. Their intelligence makes it easy to train them to perform small tricks. They’ve recently become known as the small dog stars in the dog agility sports world. Because of their natural speed and tiny turning radius gives then the edge over larger dogs.

Papillion’s are considered to be a “wash and wear” breed, which doesn’t require excessive grooming. Their fur is a fine single length coast which is plush and soft to the touch. Finding Papillion puppies for sale is easy. You can contact certain breeders, rescue one or find one from the many websites. They show a strong sense of loyalty and will forever stand by their owner’s side.
