By nature they are very friendly, gentle and affectionate dogs. They’re even good with cats (if socialized with them). Don’t let their size fool you, because they are tougher than you may think. Papillion’s love to play outside, to them there’s nothing better than a romp outside. Their intelligence makes it easy to train them to perform small tricks. They’ve recently become known as the small dog stars in the dog agility sports world. Because of their natural speed and tiny turning radius gives then the edge over larger dogs.
Papillion’s are considered to be a “wash and wear” breed, which doesn’t require excessive grooming. Their fur is a fine single length coast which is plush and soft to the touch.
